CARRIACOU - FRIDAY, 18TH MARCH, 2011 –
This year, the National Lotteries Authority (NLA) went on record to further pledge its support for the cultural and sporting development of Carriacou and Petite Martinique, through support of a number of initiatives under its mandate; and have already begun to roll out its sponsorship and donation plans for the both of them.

Earlier in March, both Sister-Isles benefited through the NLA’s sponsorship of the 2011 Carriacou and Petite Martinique Carnival to the tune of EC$3,000.00; and through the sponsorship of EC$1,500.00 for the 2011 Inter-Secondary School Games in Carriacou on March 18th, which involved students of Bishop’s College, Hillsborough Secondary School and Union Island Secondary School. The Authority has also pledged its support for the Carriacou Maroon and String Band Music Festival, which is carded for April 29th through to May 1st, 2011.

According to NLA’s Marketing & Business Development Manager, Ms. Reece Sam, “This is just the beginning for 2011. Although, we would like to have given much more in those instances; we are confident that people have benefited, and that there’s more to come. More for Carriacou, and more for Petite Martinique.”

Earlier this year, the NLA launched its Play Way product on both sister-isles, which was well-received; and conducted a special BOGO promotion as a means of giving back to the people of Carriacou and Petite Martinique for embracing the Play Way product and in recognition of their Carnival celebrations.

To date, the sister-isles as a demographic location hold the position of third biggest seller of the Play Way product and of all NLA’s lottery products in general.
